Customized Chemical Peels

You may take a step back when you hear the word “chemical peels”, but it is a FDA-approved treatment that addresses a wide variety of skin related problems including pigmentation, scarring, skin discoloration, freckles, sun damage and even improve wrinkles and fine lines.

Highly effective in combating acne or oily skin issues, AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA’s) are both known to be light and gentle types of peels. This is because the treatments mainly involve the use of natural resources (acids) extracted from citrus fruits, sugar cane, apples or milk. Citric acid, Glycolic acid, Lactic or Malic acids enable easier exfoliation of the skin cells, thereby encouraging the new and healthy skin cells to grow quickly. These natural acids are also known to deliver antioxidants and vitamins deep into the skin, making it glow brighter. For more noticeable results, our MandeliClear Peel combine both AHA, BHA and the chemical resorcinol.

Side effects and taking care of your skin after a Chemical Peel:

Generally, the recovery period after a chemical peel varies from 2 days to 2 weeks depending on skin sensitivity, the type of treatment and most importantly the depth of the peel. Most chemical peels come with a level of discomfort best described as a warming or tingling sensation. You may experience sensitivity for a few days post treatment. Some redness and swelling is expected. These are all normal reactions but to ensure quick recovery and avoid any complications, the below instructions must be strictly followed:
Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water
Avoid going out and exposing yourself to the sun for at least 7 days. If you are outdoors, make sure to apply high SPF sunscreen.
Avoid hot water to wash your face. Instead, use cool and clean water, which helps soothe the skin and reduces irritation and redness.
Swimming and the use of saunas should be completely avoided.
Avoid wearing any kind of makeup for a couple of days post treatment.
Use quality moisturizer to keep your skin smooth and fresh.
Avoid using any irritating face wash, cleansers or exfoliators for at least a week.
